Over the last 20 years we have developed our business to meet and anticipate the ever changing needs of our customers. Our heavy and ongoing investment in our people, our equipment and our processes, allows us to say, without being boastful or arrogant, that we truly offer the best service and value in our chosen sector. We’re not, though, resting on our laurels. We are continuously upgrading and adding to our technology, and are always looking to improve the quality of our output and to extend our knowledge whilst keeping our prices competitive.

Our total solution approach allows us to be cost effective from the smallest of jobs through to the total re-build of railway locomotives to mainline standards. The locos that our customers entrust to us are part of our national heritage and we feel proud to be so heavily involved in preserving and protecting these wonderful machines to be enjoyed by the current and future generations. With our own fleet of steam engines and diesels we know just how important it is to keep on top of all things mechanical. We understand the economic imperative to keep these valuable machines running so that they can earn their keep and work with our customers to ensure that down-time is minimised. This dedication and passion isn’t limited solely to the workplace - our staff can be found all over the network of railways most weeks of any year.

One of the most important things that we do at LNWR is train the next generation of railway engineers through our highly structured apprenticeship scheme, which we have been operating for over 15 years and is evidence of our commitment. We believe this investment is fundamental to the future of our business and many of our staff have come to us via this route. This has enabled us to have a relatively young workforce, but one that possesses all of the relevant skills learned in a highly disciplined environment.

We are committed to doing more to train people and in so doing instilling in them the same passion that we have, while giving them the opportunity to be part of what we believe to be a great vocation - engineering. Many of our staff have worked in the railway industry most of their lives. We especially take pride in our knowledge of boilers as we have, over the years, completed some of the most comprehensive repairs ever in this country and we are leaders in copper firebox technology. We also specialise in hot rivetting. If it's noise you like then visit us on a day when we are rivetting. Just make sure you bring your ear defenders with you!
